During the annual Black History Month Living Museum, fifth graders spoke about a number of prominent African Americans and their contributions in fields like politics, science and medicine.
Second graders followed the four steps of the design process — ask, imagine, improve and create — to develop structures that could potentially solve a real-world issue.

The Clarkstown Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 6:45pm in the Chestnut Grove District Offices. Anna Xie is weighing her options for college and remains undecided, while Christina Yan plans to pursue a major in biochemistry this fall at Columbia University.
Andrew Jaynes will be studying computer science and computational linguistics this fall at Duke University; Gianna Maltbie plans to pursue a major in chemical engineering at Princeton University.
The third annual Blackout Poetry Contest came to a close today with an in-person ceremony. Students from the Birchwood School, Clarkstown High School North and Clarkstown High School South are invited each year to participate in this creative expression that transforms ordinary words into extraordinary art.
